progress over this period (at least 1 hour/month).
4 Program Areas
Voluntary Public Service
Sharing your time and talent for the benefit of others without compensation. Direct service to the community.
Examples
- Volunteering at a hospital or shelter
- Tutoring younger students (unpaid)
- Cannot be for family or political lobbying
Personal Development
Expanding your horizons by developing individual interests, social and life skills. Learning something new.
Examples
- Music lessons or learning a language
- Programming, cooking, or art classes
- Cannot be part of regular schoolwork
Physical Fitness
Improving quality of life through participation in fitness activities. Set goals to improve your current level.
Examples
- Team sports (Soccer, Basketball)
- Individual activities (Running, Yoga, Gym)
- Must show measurable progress
Expedition/Exploration
Challenging yourself through an outdoor or wilderness experience, or exploring a new culture.
Examples
- Camping trip or wilderness hike
- Cultural immersion travel (Domestic/Intl)
- Must plan and execute the trip
